I’m one of a select few on the planet not to have seen Avatar, not been interested. However Mark Driscoll thinks it’s satanic and that’s piqued my interest.
I watched Avatar. The 3D glasses made my eyes sore by the end of it. The whole paganism/Hindu thing is pretty blatant (the title of the film should be something of a giveaway). Mark Driscoll’s language is provocative as usual, but he’s not far off the mark. And the female aliens, despite being aliens, were very scantily clad. My wife didn’t pick up on that at all, but for some reason, I did.
I believe Jesus when he said 'life does not consist in the abundance of our possessions'. I believe he offers something better. This blog is mostly about that search.
I'm also a church pastor, a bookshop owner, a husband, a father, a keen runner, reader, and motorcyclist. These and a few other things make guest appearances from time to time.
